Why we don't recommend multi-ridge warehouse in heavy snow area:
Some of our clients have projects that have heavy snow in the winter, and these warehouses have very large spans, so we do not recommend the design and construction of multi-ridge warehouses, for the following reasons:
1.Snow Load: The design of multi-ridge structures can lead to snow accumulation and buildup on the roof, increasing the roof load. In regions with heavy snowfall, snow depths and weights can reach significant levels, exceeding the load-bearing capacity of the roof and potentially causing deformation, rupture, or collapse.
2.Roof Structure Strength: The design of multi-ridge structures often requires longer beams and support structures, demanding higher roof structure strength and rigidity. However, this design may increase costs and add complexity to construction.
3.Difficult Snow Removal: The design of multi-ridge structures makes snow clearance more challenging. The accumulation of snow on the roof can create uniformly distributed loads, making snow removal tasks time-consuming and complex.
4.Maintenance Challenges: The design of multi-ridge structures can increase difficulties in maintenance and repairs. For example, inspecting and repairing leakage issues on the roof may become more intricate and costly.
In conclusion, due to factors such as snow load, roof structure strength, difficult snow removal, and maintenance challenges, it is not recommended to construct multi-ridge steel warehouses in areas with heavy snowfall.
